Tohatchi FEW Nexus Project

 A multi-prong Food-Energy-Water (FEW) Nexus Project that converges a (i) robust geothermal system for food and agriculture production, (ii) a mid-scale green hydrogen generation facility with a state-of-the-art electrolyzer (iii) solar photovoltaic (PV) with a battery energy storage system (BESS) for the distributed electricity markets, 

 A multi-prong Food-Energy-Water (FEW) Nexus Project that converges a (i) robust geothermal system for food and agriculture production, (ii) a mid-scale green hydrogen generation facility with a state-of-the-art electrolyzer (iii) solar photovoltaic (PV) with a battery energy storage system (BESS) for the distributed electricity markets, and (iv) a decarbonization technology systems to firm solar and provide regional ancillary services for grid modernization.

  As the largest land base Tribe, the Navajo Nation is over 27,000 square miles and accounts for a good portion of the NREL renewable energy statistic. The Navajo Nation is in a good position to capitalize on these energy sources through its businesses or by private enterprises. The Navajo Nation holds an estimated $2.0 trillion dollars in energy resources and has the potential energy generating capacity of 1.5 TW of combined fossil and renewable energy resources.
